ARW-1050 Load Grade Comparison
The ARW-1050 tank is published in four vertical load grades. This page puts the four published test values side by side and converts any of them between tonnes per square metre, kilonewtons per square metre, kilopascals and pounds per square inch, so a specification written in one unit can be read against a datasheet written in another.
Published grades
| Grade | Short-term test value | Same value in kN/m² | Polymer |
|---|---|---|---|
| ARW-1050-30 | 30 t/m² | 294 kN/m² | Recycled polypropylene |
| ARW-1050-40 | 40 t/m² | 392 kN/m² | Recycled polypropylene |
| ARW-1050-45 | 45 t/m² | 441 kN/m² | Recycled polypropylene |
| ARW-1050-60 | 60 t/m² | 588 kN/m² | Virgin polypropylene |

All four grades are short-term compression test values. Polypropylene loses compressive capacity when a load is held on it, so a short-term test number and a design number are two different quantities. Which grade suits your cover depth, traffic and ground conditions is a decision for the project engineer, working from the site data. AQUA RainWater moulds and supplies the units; we are not the project’s design engineer and not the installation contractor.
Conversion uses standard gravity: 1 t/m² equals 9.80665 kN/m², and 1 kN/m² equals 1 kPa exactly. Results in kN/m² and kPa are rounded to the nearest whole unit so they read against the published grade table.
