Material Interface Route Tool
Generate a starting checklist for a defined water route, then take the unresolved inputs into project review.
Choose the intended water route
Detention / attenuation starting point
Starting material and interface checklist
- Confirm the release, overflow and receiving-system basis.
- Confirm required volume, footprint/depth, cover/loading, groundwater and access.
- Identify whether a project-defined liner, protection layer, pipe interface or inspection route is required.
Inputs still to resolve
- Approving criteria and maintenance obligations.
- Pipe sizes, invert elevations, pretreatment and sediment-removal route.
- Liner/protection specification where the project requires containment.
Infiltration starting point
Starting material and interface checklist
- Start with a project-specified engineering geotextile filtration-wrap route.
- Confirm soil/infiltration evidence, seasonal groundwater, pretreatment, drawdown and overflow.
- Lock fibre/construction, mass, width, filter criteria, seams/overlaps and interface details in the order specification.
Inputs still to resolve
- Authority or permit basis; some piped infiltration systems require jurisdiction review.
- Soil and groundwater evidence; do not assume a universal bottom-wrap detail.
- Maintenance access, sediment control and final pipe/opening detail.
Lined storage / reuse starting point
Starting material and interface checklist
- Start with project-specified geomembrane plus protection geotextile.
- Confirm water-use requirements, material, thickness, standard, penetrations, panel/roll format and seam-testing route.
- Separate storage volume from treatment, pumps and controls.
Inputs still to resolve
- Buoyancy assessment where groundwater may act on a lined system.
- Protection/substrate detail, field seam acceptance and installer responsibility.
- Access, pretreatment, overflow and reuse-system interfaces.
Review boundary
This tool does not issue a final design, approve soil suitability, select a liner thickness, set a wrap detail, or replace project-specific authority, hydraulic, geotechnical, structural or installer review.
