Supply Capabilities for Pond and Water-Feature Projects
EPDM pond liners are supporting procured products coordinated through AQUA’s controlled supply process; they are not made on AQUA’s injection-moulding lines. This distinction keeps the product record, inspection scope and supporting documents tied to the actual liner order.
Roll supply
We supply roll widths from 1 to 8 m. Choosing a pond liner on a roll can suit a customer who has the labour, lifting access and seam plan needed for installation on site.
Long continuous material
We can coordinate continuous roll length up to approximately 100 m. Model, length, handling and packing must be confirmed together before shipment.
Prefabricated panels
We can coordinate joined finished panels wider than 8 m, including approximately 16 m-wide panels. Each custom panel is folded for packing, so the lifting and unfolding plan belongs in the enquiry.
Small finished panels
Small finished panels are also available in custom sizes. Examples in the current product record include 10 × 10 ft, 10 × 15 ft and 5 × 5 ft; they are examples, not a fixed kit range.
EPDM Material and Thickness Options
We supply black EPDM with a smooth surface on both sides and no pattern. The EPDM liner forms the project’s waterproof membrane when it is correctly specified and installed, without claims here about an undisclosed reinforcement system or formulation.
Catalogue choice
We supply 35, 40, 45 and 60 mil catalogue options. A buyer can select a thicker sheet and still miss a concentrated subgrade or penetration risk; a thicker option is not always the complete answer.
A 35 or 40 mil catalogue option is not interchangeable with a named 45 mil project minimum. The wrong choice creates puncture and compliance risk because thickness, contained liquid, substrate and the governing specification work together.
External specification boundary
A request for a 45 mil EPDM pond liner still needs a defined application. GRI GM21 covers 45 and 60 mil EPDM geomembranes and notes that a specific application can require additional or stricter tests. That scope does not establish that any AQUA model conforms to GM21.
The national document linked from the current NRCS Conservation Practice Standard 521 page uses 45 mil as the minimum EPDM thickness within its covered clear-water and wastewater pond-lining practice. NRCS directs users to the local Field Office Technical Guide for planning and design, so this is not permission to treat 45 mil as a universal answer for every pond.
Roll, Panel and Site-Handling Choices
We offer common roll lengths of 20, 30, 40 and 50 m. Other lengths and finished panel dimensions are configured against the drawing or dimension schedule.
Single roll
The planned width and length fit the 1–8 m roll envelope
Roll orientation, lifting access, edge allowance and field seam plan
Long roll
Continuous material can reduce crosswise joins
Unloading space, roll core, net and gross weight, and safe site handling
Joined panel
A finished width over 8 m can reduce field joining
Finished size, panel join record, fold map, packing and unfolding sequence
Small custom panel
A pre-sized water garden, stream or decorative pond needs a compact sheet
Actual excavation dimensions and edge treatment rather than nominal pond size
A wide prefabricated panel can reduce field joins, but the widest panel is not necessarily the lower-risk option. The trade-off is fewer field joins versus heavier folded sections, unloading access and a more complex placement sequence.
EPDM Pond Liner Specifications
| Model or field | Nominal value | Ordering note |
|---|---|---|
| ARW-EPDM-35MIL | 35 mil / approx. 0.889 mm / 0.889 kg/m² | Catalogue option; suitability follows project review |
| ARW-EPDM-40MIL | 40 mil / approx. 1.016 mm / 1.016 kg/m² | Catalogue option; suitability follows project review |
| ARW-EPDM-45MIL | 45 mil / approx. 1.143 mm / 1.143 kg/m² | Catalogue option; check the governing specification |
| ARW-EPDM-60MIL | 60 mil / approx. 1.524 mm / 1.524 kg/m² | Catalogue option; check handling and panel mass |
| Roll width | 1–8 m | Standard maximum width is 8 m |
| Common roll length | 20 / 30 / 40 / 50 m | Other lengths are custom |
| Maximum continuous length | Approx. 100 m | Subject to order and packing review |
| Joined finished width | Over 8 m; approx. 16 m possible | Folded for packing |
| Preliminary geotextile underlay | Approx. 200–300 g/m² | Final choice depends on substrate and project conditions |
The kg/m² figures use the owner-directed nominal rule of 1.0 mm thickness = 1.0 kg/m². A 60 mil pond liner therefore carries 1.524 kg/m² as a calculated planning value, not measured density, finished roll weight or freight weight.
Order-specific dimensions, tolerances, core sizes, roll weights and packing are confirmed on the order record. Use the thickness and nominal mass comparison tool to compare catalogue options without turning the result into a shipping weight.
Quotation Inputs and Delivery Planning
EPDM pond liner cost is based on the selected model, net liner dimensions, panel plan, quantity, underlay scope, packing and destination. A request that provides only pond volume is incomplete because volume does not specify the sheet length, sheet width, edge allowance or fold and seam plan.
Dimensions for a useful quote
Specify maximum pond length, maximum width, maximum depth, shelves or steps, side slopes and required perimeter allowance. Include a sketch for irregular shapes and indicate every pipe, drain, skimmer, waterfall or other penetration.
Site and logistics inputs
Describe soil, roots, sharp stone, groundwater, equipment access and the available unloading area. Add destination, preferred packing, installation schedule and any named project standard.
Production and delivery timing is confirmed with each quotation after model, material preparation, order mix and season are reviewed. Before we ship a roll or panel, applicable commercial terms and order documents are confirmed; no fixed warranty period or service-life number is published here.
Product Review, Documents and Packing
The order review associates the selected model, nominal thickness, sheet or panel dimensions, surface, packing and document requirements to a single record. EPDM review is maintained separately from AQUA’s moulded-product sampling and compression-testing workflow.
Configuration review
We verify the model, dimensions, panel format, tolerances and substrate notes against the enquiry. Absent groundwater, penetration or handling information is flagged before finalizing the supply route.
Document availability
Selected third-party product test reports and company certificates can be provided according to the product and order. Fish-safety, UV and ageing document availability is checked for the actual model without inventing a report identity or result.
Packing review
Verify roll or folded-panel identification, core details, protection, net and gross weight, loading method and destination per order. Ensure that those details correspond with site lifting and storage capacities.
From Project Data to Shipment
Specify the containment duty
Indicate the pond purpose, contained liquid, fish or plant use, exposure, governing specification and installation location.
Calculate the liner envelope
Add twice the maximum depth and the intended edge allowance to both plan dimensions, then adjust the figure for shelving, unusual geometry and site-measurement risk.
Source the catalogue model
Check the appropriate fit of 35, 40, 45 and 60 mil against the project specification, substrate material, puncture exposure and placement protocol.
Choose the supply arrangement
Assess field seams, joined-panel dimensions, fold map, unloading access and the site contractor’s placement sequence.
Formalise the ordering record
Confirm dimensions, tolerances, core, weight, packing, documents and delivery inputs before release.
Evaluate site delivery and final project handover
The site team directs its storage and installation plan and takes responsibility for material storage, installation, seam execution and the relevant site acceptance test.
We supply liner material and product support; installation construction is not included. EPDM pond liner installation, field seam work, penetrations, anchorage, drainage, gas venting and commissioning remain within the project designer and contractor scope.
Product Appearance, Application and Export Packing
The following site photographs illustrate the smooth black sheet, an ordinary pond application and the packaged liner material.

A fully configured order is supplied against its agreed material specification, dimensions and packing record. The illustrated photographic record does not substitute for specification sheets or weight labels, and does not replace document checks or shipment-specific loading instructions.
Configuration Limits and Alternative Routes
Route to project engineering review
Cases such as wastewater or industrial liquid handling, contaminated water containment, potable-water duty, exposed lining applications, regulated agricultural liquid storage or any application controlled by an accepted specification require independent compatibility and design reviews beyond what a catalogue grade can provide.
Compare another liner system
Very large panels for field welding, difficult access for placement equipment, high site-damage or puncture exposure, or a heat-welded seam strategy can justify another membrane; alternatives can include RPE pond liners, high-density polyethylene, low-density polyethylene and polyvinyl chloride, subject to the actual site and specification constraints.
A catalogue thickness is not a substitute for application compatibility, subgrade preparation, protection, drainage and installation design.
The national CPS 521 document linked by NRCS requires a smooth subgrade free of sharp, angular stones and calls for cushioning, drainage or gas venting measures where project conditions demand them. A durable liner still depends on substrate preparation, protective underlayment and controlled installation.

EPDM Pond Liner FAQs
Which thickness should I specify?
Start with the project specification, contained liquid, substrate, puncture exposure and installation plan. AQUA can compare the 35, 40, 45 and 60 mil catalogue options, but does not assign a universal pond-use grade from thickness alone.
Is 45 mil EPDM suitable for every pond?
No. The national CPS 521 document linked by NRCS uses 45 mil within its defined scope, while the current NRCS page directs project users to local technical guidance. Project conditions and local requirements still control selection.
Can AQUA supply a panel wider than 8 m?
Yes. Joined finished panels can exceed the 8 m roll width, and approximately 16 m-wide panels are possible. Confirm the finished size, join record, folded packing, unloading and unfolding plan with the order.
How do I estimate the sheet size?
A preliminary rectangular estimate adds twice the maximum depth and twice the chosen edge allowance to both the maximum length and maximum width. Irregular shapes, shelves, slopes and measurement uncertainty need additional review.
Should I use geotextile underlayment?
One common assumption is that one underlay weight fits every excavation. Subgrade protection is important where soil, roots or sharp objects can create puncture points. We use approximately 200–300 g/m² as a preliminary geotextile underlay range, subject to substrate and project review.
Can the liner be used for koi ponds?
The current product record covers ordinary landscape and fish-pond use. Ask AQUA to check the available fish-safety documents for the selected model and order rather than relying on a generic “safe for fish and plant life” statement.
Does AQUA install the pond liner?
No. AQUA supplies liner material and product support, while the project contractor is responsible for excavation, substrate preparation, drainage, placement, field seams, penetrations, anchorage and testing.
How is UV resistance confirmed?
UV and ageing document availability is reviewed for the selected order. No fixed value is published on this page because the current record does not identify a product-specific report or result.
What determines delivery timing?
Delivery timing is order-specific and confirmed in the quotation.
Can nominal kg/m² be used for freight?
No. The displayed values are arithmetic based on the owner’s nominal 1.0 mm = 1.0 kg/m² rule. Use order-confirmed roll dimensions, core, packaging, net weight and gross weight for freight planning.
