Interlocking Gravel Grid Supply

Gravel migration matters at entrances and turning areas. Our four-sided interlock joins individual panels into a gravel-retention layer, while the filled cells help stabilize the aggregate; the prepared ground beneath carries its own part of the load.

CH.01

Driveways and parking lots

Use the project brief to identify everyday vehicles, delivery visits and tight turning movements. We review your requested panel configuration against that brief before quoting supply, because a vehicle description alone leaves the base and installation conditions unresolved.

CH.02

Gravel walkways

State the path width, edge details and expected users when choosing a gravel grid for walkway construction. Aggregate feel underfoot and mobility access deserve separate attention from panel size.

CH.03

Horse paddock areas

Our paddock application requires sand or suitable fine aggregate within the cells and a suitable equestrian surface above. Keep the plastic ribs covered so hooves contact the intended footing.

Panel–Fill–Base Check

Base preparation comes before panel selection. Check these three parts together when specifying a ground grid for gravel; the grid confines the fill, but it cannot correct an unsuitable foundation.

  • PANEL Confirm model, nominal height, connections and required quantity.
  • FILL Match aggregate size and shape to the panel and intended walking or driving surface.
  • BASE Have the project designer define support, drainage, edges and any required separation layer.

For paddocks, a compacted support layer and a comfortable footing serve different functions. Penn State’s all-weather paddock guidance explains this layered approach and why water movement depends on the whole construction.

Matching material to the job

The fill must suit the selected panel and the walking surface. A resin name does not establish a complete outdoor performance specification: tell us about temperature exposure, chemical contact and the intended use when requesting the product documents for your order.

Gravel surface
Requirement
Retain the selected aggregate within the panel cells and maintain the intended finished level.
Equestrian surface
Requirement
Choose footing for hoof contact, above the filled grid.
Permeable build-up
Requirement
Coordinate aggregate, subsoil and the water outlet; a geotextile layer is a separate design choice.

Avoid a material mismatch before production.

38 mm and 50 mm Gravel Grid Specifications

A deeper panel changes the handling mass for the same nominal area. Both AQUA models use the same nominal footprint, so the number of panels per nominal square metre stays the same; the 50 mm model adds 12 mm of height and 0.5 kg of panel mass.

Grid Order Check

Use nominal area to make the first panel-count estimate, then add your chosen allowance for cuts and spare panels. The calculation excludes gravel, packaging and pallets, and the final layout must account for the effective installed dimensions and perimeter details.

  • Nominal count: project area in m² ÷ 0.25, rounded up to a whole panel.
  • Allowance: enter your own percentage; the tool starts at zero and does not prescribe a standard waste rate.
  • Net mass: planned panel count × 1.5 kg or 2.0 kg, according to the selected model.

Model decision

The trade-off is a 38 mm versus 50 mm panel section and its associated handling mass, whereas the nominal footprint stays unchanged. A deeper panel is not necessarily the right traffic specification: check the proposed fill, base, wheel loads and turning conditions when selecting the product for a driveway. For permeable construction, review the structural and drainage design considerations.

Calculate nominal panels and net mass // Compare the two model quantities

AQUA Rain Water supplies both models as individual panels because panel format and quantity need to be unambiguous in the order.

PRICING & LEAD TIME

Gravel Grid Pricing and Lead Time

We price the model, material choice, colour, quantity and agreed delivery scope together. Comparing only a price per panel can hide differences in the order: 400 panels of ARW-GR-38 weigh 600 kg net, whereas 400 panels of ARW-GR-50 weigh 800 kg net before packaging or fill.

Build a comparable quotation

  • List the 38 mm or 50 mm model and panel count.
  • State standard or virgin PP and the colour.
  • Give the delivery destination and required date.
  • List requested inspection and shipment documents.

Separate the project costs

  • Grid panels and delivery
  • Excavation, base materials and earthworks
  • Aggregate, separation layers and edge restraints
  • Installation, drainage and future upkeep

Order size and scheduling

We accept individual and custom orders without a fixed minimum. We confirm the production schedule for your model and quantity in the order; coordinate it with transport and site readiness to reduce the risk of materials arriving before the ground is prepared.

Budget check

AQUA Rain Water provides a defined panel supply quotation, while your installation estimate should cover the rest of the construction. Use the same project area and scope across offers before deciding which option costs less.

Batch Inspection and Order Documents

We have operated since 2009 and run 82 injection-moulding machines in two shifts. Our in-house compression test equipment supports factory inspection, while the product specification and acceptance criteria define what is checked for your order.

Checks before delivery

  • [BATCH] We sample approximately 2% for dimensional, colour, appearance and compression checks.
  • [DOCS_] We agree the required inspection records, selected test reports and shipment documents for the order.
  • [AUDIT] We arrange factory visits or remote video reviews by appointment.
  • [TERMS] We apply the warranty terms in the agreed order specification and sales contract.

Match the delivered panel to the ordered model, then check the installation build-up separately. A material or batch check does not replace the project’s ground and drainage design.

AQUA Rain Water · Product selection note

State the 500 × 500 mm panel format, selected height and required records before production because a dimensional mismatch can delay installation. If an issue occurs, provide the order reference, affected quantity and clear photographs so we can assess it against the agreed specification.

Gravel Grid Ordering and Delivery

A clear brief reduces the risk of quoting the wrong material or an incomplete quantity. Product selection is not a substitute for civil design. We supply the panels and coordinate the order details; your project team controls the civil design and installation work.

Ground Grid Ordering and Installation
01

Define the site

Send the area, intended vehicles or users, slope, ground conditions and drainage arrangement.

02

Choose the configuration

Compare the 38 mm and 50 mm panels, then state the resin and colour requirements.

03

Check the quantity

Use the nominal 0.25 m² panel area for an estimate and review cuts, edges and spares against the layout.

04

Agree the order

We confirm the schedule, delivery scope and required inspection documents with the quotation and order details.

05

Receive and inspect

Check the model, quantity and condition on arrival; send any discrepancy with the order reference before installation.

Site handover

Installing panels onto an unsuitable base leaves the underlying problem in place. Keep the accepted product specification with the site plan so the installer can check the selected fill, edge restraint and finished surface level before work starts.

Gravel Grid Selection Trade-offs

Compare the complete surface

For a gravel stabilization project, compare a filled plastic paver system with the proposed alternative using the same ground conditions, traffic and drainage requirements.

Installation and upkeep

Grid installation does not remove routine maintenance, contrary to the idea that retained gravel needs no further attention. A gravel stabilizer grid can hold fill within cells, but the complete surface still needs a suitable base, defined edges and a plan for sediment, displaced aggregate and vegetation.

Poor infiltration or sensitive runoff

A permeable driveway grid does not necessarily make the finished build-up infiltrate into compacted clay. Have the designer establish storage, drainage and an outlet; areas exposed to fuel or hazardous spills require a suitable runoff-control design.

EPA siting and maintenance guidance

Follow relevant environmental agency guidelines for permeable paving siting, including appropriate base depths and regular vacuum sweeping to maintain infiltration rates.

Accessible routes

A wheelchair route needs a firm, stable and slip-resistant finished surface where ADA requirements apply. Loose stones, exposed openings and uneven transitions need attention even when a grid is present.

U.S. Access Board surface guidance

Refer to the U.S. Access Board specifications for accessible surfaces, ensuring the filled grid system meets all firmness and stability criteria for pedestrian routes.

Demanding traffic or slope

Heavy turning, tracked vehicles, repeated truck movements and steep gradients need a specific design review. A 50 mm panel is not automatically an approved substitute for a designed heavy-duty pavement.

Maintenance handover

  • Inspect for exposed ribs, displaced fill, damaged connections and uneven transitions.
  • Keep soil and fine sediment from accumulating in a surface intended to drain.
  • Manage vegetation and replenish or correct fill as required by the installation specification.
  • Agree snow-clearing methods before operation so equipment does not scrape the panels or drag out the fill.

The structural reason to check the whole build-up is simple: surface confinement, ground support and water movement are separate jobs. Use our RFQ checklist to flag unusual conditions before ordering, rather than relying on a generic product label.

Gravel Grid Selection and Ordering

Review our technical specifications and ordering procedures to ensure correct ground reinforcement application.

No. The panels retain fill near the surface; they do not repair soft, uneven or poorly drained ground. Have the base, drainage and perimeter support defined before installing the grid.

Our product is an individual interlocking PP panel supplied in a fixed 500 × 500 mm nominal format. An expandable geocell opens into a larger cellular mattress; compare the actual product dimensions, connections, infill and design requirements instead of treating both names as interchangeable.

Compare the required panel height and handling mass alongside your project design. ARW-GR-38 weighs 1.5 kg per panel and ARW-GR-50 weighs 2.0 kg; the higher model does not by itself establish a vehicle load rating.

The nominal count is 400 panels before cuts and spares. Confirm installed coverage against the layout.

Match the aggregate to the panel openings, intended users and specified surface level. Check grading, particle shape and fines with the project designer and product requirements; a material selected for a vehicle area is not automatically suitable for hoof contact or wheelchair travel.

Only after the existing construction has been assessed and prepared for the proposed installation. A rut, soft area or drainage problem needs its cause addressed; covering it with plastic panels leaves that cause unresolved.

It retains fill within cells but does not make a surface maintenance-free. Inspect the fill and edges, manage vegetation and attend to material displaced by traffic.

Send the vehicle and wheel-load requirements, traffic frequency, turning pattern, slope and proposed base. Product selection needs those conditions and appropriate supporting documentation, not a thickness-only assumption.

Yes, with suitable sand or fine aggregate filling the cells and a suitable equestrian surface above them. Keep the ribs covered and have the footing, drainage and maintenance arrangements set for the horses using the area.

Neither outcome follows from the panel alone. Permeability depends on the fill and underlying construction; accessible surfaces must meet the requirements governing the finished route or parking space.

Yes. Virgin PP and custom colours are available alongside standard black.

We accept individual and custom orders without a fixed minimum. The order confirms the production schedule for the selected model and quantity.

We apply the terms in the agreed order specification and sales contract. State the intended use and acceptance requirements before ordering so product responsibilities are clear.
