Peor a\u00fan, los patrones de lluvia han cambiado dr\u00e1sticamente. Ya no se trata de lluvias suaves y predecibles. Nos enfrentamos a inundaciones repentinas y violentas y a vol\u00famenes de escorrent\u00eda que los registros hist\u00f3ricos nunca hab\u00edan pronosticado.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Durante d\u00e9cadas, la industria de la construcci\u00f3n se bas\u00f3 en una receta est\u00e1ndar: excavar una zanja profunda, instalar tuber\u00edas r\u00edgidas de concreto y excavar un enorme estanque abierto para contener el agua. En ese momento, eso parec\u00eda suficiente. Pero a medida que nos acercamos al 2025, estamos descubriendo las fallas de estos m\u00e9todos antiguos. Es una filosof\u00eda que consiste en trasladar el \u201ctrabajo pesado\u201d del drenaje al subsuelo, donde es seguro, invisible y controlable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nuestro sistema utiliza unidades geocelulares modulares de alta resistencia (a menudo denominadas \u00abcajas para aguas pluviales\u00bb) para crear grandes huecos subterr\u00e1neos. Envolvemos el tanque con un tejido geotextil permeable. El agua se filtra y se deja filtrar lentamente de nuevo en el suelo. La ventaja: esto recarga los acu\u00edferos locales y evita el hundimiento del terreno causado por la sequedad del suelo. Retiene el agua de la inundaci\u00f3n durante el pico de la tormenta y la libera lentamente en las tuber\u00edas de la ciudad horas m\u00e1s tarde a trav\u00e9s de un dispositivo de control de flujo.
